Cinnamon Genmaicha is based on kukicha (stem tea) from Makinohara in Shizuoka, Japan's largest tea-growing region, blended with cinnamon and dark-roasted genmai (brown rice).
Kukicha is made by gathering only the stems removed while sencha is being produced and finishing them as a tea of their own. It has little astringency and a refreshing character.
In this Cinnamon Genmaicha, the clean sweetness typical of kukicha, the lightly sweet and exotic note of cinnamon, and the toastiness of the brown rice come into fine balance.
The deep aroma and flavor are easy to come back to, and the tea suits moments when you want energy or a refresh.
