Black Sesame Sencha is based on sencha from Kanaya in Shizuoka, blended with roasted black sesame from Kagawa and toasted brown rice.
The sencha uses leaf grown in the Kanaya district, a tea-producing area in central Shizuoka. It is yabukita, a cultivar that represents Japanese tea, with a fine balance of sweetness, umami and astringency.
To that sencha are added two different kinds of toastiness, roasted black sesame and dark-roasted brown rice, giving a tea with a rich aroma and a mellow depth.
Black sesame is also notable for the nutrients it holds, such as sesamin.
It comes in tea bags, so it is convenient at home, at work and when you are out.
